Licensing Image and Code Assets for your Android App – Part 2

Android licensing dangerAn important part of keeping costs down for your Android app development is to reuse code – including your own as well as open source code.

Welcome back to part two of three in this article series about understanding and working with licenses for both code and image assets for your Android apps.

Unfortunately, it’s a little harder to find a big challenge to compete in than it was a few years ago.  Now that Android has taken off, Google is done with the Android Developer Challenge (ADC).  The ADC II pages still show up in search results, but it’s way too late to enter!  The third PayPal X Developer Challenge also just ended.

So where do you turn?

I gathered a list of a few currently open competitions for Android apps, but note that some of them are ending very soon! Continue reading

Show your Enthusiasm for Android

Android vinyl figure from DYZOK, this one is completely frivolous.  I have no practical need for a plastic Android figure for my desk, but I wanted one.

I spend a lot of my time with Android, for professional and personal reasons.   So why not have a physical reminder of my enthusiasm?
